  • Antenatal classes are one of the best ways to prepare for birth, postpartum, and parenting. Research shows that independent, evidence-based classes like One Mama Midwife can reduce fear, anxiety, medical interventions, and postpartum post-traumatic stress disorder (Gün Kakaşçı, et al., 2023).

Fear during labour can slow progress, impact your mental state, and increase the likelihood of operative births and negative experiences. Our classes equip you with the tools and knowledge to feel confident and in control, reducing fear and helping you navigate your birth with clarity and calm.

They don’t just stop at labour preparation—our classes also increase your self-confidence, both in the delivery room and throughout the postpartum period.

  • Our classes are led by midwives working in labour wards, bringing real-world experience and the latest insights to modern parents. We focus on practical tools, evidence-based education, and empowering you and your support person for birth and beyond.

With ongoing access to Founder Loz, a WhatsApp group for connecting with other parents, and a goodie bag of resources, our fun and interactive classes are more than preparation—they’re your first step into a supportive community.

  • This class is eligible for private health rebates of up to $400, depending on your health fund, level of cover and extras.

  • We recommend attending when you are between 25-35 weeks.

What our clients say

  • Sarah

“My husband and I recently attended the antenatal class with Lauren. Lauren was fabulous! From the moment we arrived, we felt comfortable and at ease. Lauren was extremely knowledgeable, engaging and presented everything in a way that was easy to understand. She took the time to go through all questions without judgement and have a laugh with the group. Highly recommended for first time parents!”

  • Danielle

“Lauren’s class covered everything you need to know before having your baby. It was informative, fun, interactive and my husband learnt a lot too. Would highly recommend if you want an antenatal class that covers all aspects of birth, breastfeeding and looking after a newborn.”

  • Tara

“Highly recommend! My partner and I attended the Antenatal Class with Lauren yesterday and it was incredible. Exactly what we needed as first time parents. We learnt so much and now feel much more confident about birth and parenting.”

  • Jordan and Courtney

“We completed Lauren’s antenatal class and loved it! My partner especially enjoyed the class and loved being able to learn more and ask questions. It was great doing it with like minded couples outside of a hospital environment and was also so nice to have a few laughs along the way. We loved that it covered all the information/facts around birth and your newborn but also how your birth partner can support you emotionally throughout the process.”

  • Beck

“My husband and I did Lauren’s class last week & we’re blown away by how prepared it made us feel for labour and having our baby! Me and my husband were tossing up whether to do the class however both walked out feeling so thankful we did!”
