The Birth Refresher
*Not suitable for first time parents
So, you’ve been through birth before, but let’s be real—some of the details are a little… blurry (and not just because of the sleep deprivation). Maybe you remember the contractions but forgot how to actually breathe through them. Maybe you rocked your last birth, but you’re wondering if you should do anything differently this time. Or maybe you just need a refresher because your brain is now 90% snack requests and Bluey theme songs.
Whatever the reason, The Birth Refresher is here to top you up with all the birthy goodness you actually need for round two (or three… or four).

Because You’ve Done This Before… But Things Get Fuzzy

This class covers:
This 2-3 hour class is NOT your standard cookie-cutter birth class. Oh no, this one is tailored specifically to you. When you book, you’ll pick up to five topics you want covered—because let’s face it, no two births are the same, and no one wants to sit through a lecture on perineal massage if their main concern is literally everything else.
We’ll start with a general refresh (because everyone forgets at least something), and then we’ll dive into the topics that actually matter to you. Whether it’s pain relief options, induction, navigating a VBAC, or just getting your partner to stop saying, “It’ll be fine, babe”, we’ll cover it all with zero judgment, plenty of real talk, and maybe a little bit of humour—because birth is serious, but we don’t have to be.
So, grab your coffee, (or your mocktail—I don’t judge), and let’s get you birth-ready. Again.

Antenatal classes are one of the best ways to prepare for birth, postpartum, and parenting. Research shows that independent, evidence-based classes like One Mama Midwife can reduce fear, anxiety, medical interventions, and postpartum post-traumatic stress disorder (Gün Kakaşçı, et al., 2023).
Fear during labour can slow progress, impact your mental state, and increase the likelihood of operative births and negative experiences. Our classes equip you with the tools and knowledge to feel confident and in control, reducing fear and helping you navigate your birth with clarity and calm.
They don’t just stop at labour preparation—our classes also increase your self-confidence, both in the delivery room and throughout the postpartum period.
-
Our classes are led by midwives working in labour wards, bringing real-world experience and the latest insights to modern parents. We focus on practical tools, evidence-based education, and empowering you and your support person for birth and beyond.
With ongoing access to Founder Loz, a WhatsApp group for connecting with other parents, and a goodie bag of resources, our fun and interactive classes are more than preparation—they’re your first step into a supportive community.

This class is eligible for private health rebates of up to $400, depending on your health fund, level of cover and extras.
