Antenatal Class Benefits
Research shows that independent, evidence-based antenatal classes can reduce fear, anxiety, interventions and postpartum post traumatic stress disorder. Fear during labour can negatively impact your mental state, slow the progress of your labour, lead to more operative births and increase the rates of negative birth experiences (Gün Kakaşçı, et al., 2023).
Furthermore, attending Antenatal Classes has been shown to increase self-confidence in the labour room as well as in the postpartum period (Gün Kakaşçı, et al., 2023).
How are One Mama Midwife Antenatal Classes different?
Our classes have the unique advantage of being completely evidence-based and curated by an experienced Midwife in consultation with Obstetricians and Women’s Health Physiotherapists.
Our classes are held in a supportive and inclusive environment, where all people and families are welcome. The classes are interactive, fun, practical and allow you to ask questions. You can also connect with other expecting parents in Brisbane to make your future mother’s group.
All classes come with a take home workbook for you to refer back to and a goodie bag filled with useful products, discounts and information.
One Mama Midwife Antenatal Classes are Highly Recommended by Midwives, Obstetricians, GPs and Women’s Health Physiotherapists
Classes run for 6 hours, meaning that we will have a good amount of time to go through all of the class components as well as answering all of the questions that you may have - we love questions!
Morning tea, Lunch and Tea & Coffee are all included.
Make sure to wear comfortable clothing as the classes are interactive.

Classes are $650 for 2 people - you and your chosen support person.
If you are with a Private Health Fund you are able to claim up to $400 off your One Mama Midwife Antenatal Classes due to Lauren being an Endorsed Midwife with a Medicare Provider Number.
Check with your Health Fund for how much they will cover based on your own individual policy.
